Investigating Agropreneurial Intention among Students in Higher Learning Institution using the Theory of Planned Behaviour

This study uses the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to determine factors influencing intention agriculture students in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) be involved agribusiness. To meet aim this study, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held among from Faculty Agriculture, UPM. method qualitative data collection utilized order gain an in-depth understanding youth participation rates within sector Malaysia. A total 20 UPM were most have had some amount experience entrepreneurship either formally or informally. Apart personal and social norms, found that institutional factors, more specifically way which agricultural studies programs are set up, play imperative role agropreneurial students. well-rounded, quality agropreneurship education goes beyond theory-based learning, can different ways positively influence other determinants thereby increasing intention. Efforts should intensified align training. Beyond trade-based it also focus on providing knowledge, technical skills, attributes young farmers need for their careers. At tertiary level, learning multidisciplinary so grasp incorporate concepts pertaining to, example, food sciences, risk management, analytics - help them dynamic navigating growth agribusiness potential pitfalls.
